National Small Business Week is a national recognition event to honor the United States’ top entrepreneurs each year. It’s been fifty years since President Kennedy signed the first “National Small Business Week” proclamation into law, and this year National Small Business Week (NSBW) is taking place June 17th – 21st. Over 50% of Americans own or work for a small business, and these businesses create 2/3 of new jobs in the United States each year. Small businesses were responsible for over 67% of the net new jobs created from mid-2009 to 2011, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Small businesses are a major driver of our economy.
